COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES IN Whitchurch, Cardiff

Welcome to a peaceful and nurturing space dedicated to your well-being.

I invite you to embark on a journey toward holistic and spiritual wellness through touch therapies that support the mind, body, and soul. My approach integrates Western techniques with Eastern philosophy to promote balance across your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Welcome to Wellbeing!

Hi my name is Vanessa Holt, I am a certified Clinical and Holistic Complementary Health Practitioner, based in The Health and Wellness Hub, Cardiff, South Wales, UK.

I trained at Inspira Academy in Cardiff, earning the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrated Medicine, which is the highest level attainable in the UK. I received training in Advanced Reflexology Techniques of Duopody, NEPIP for Stress Management, CALM and Chakra Balancing. Other specialised areas include Fertility, Pregnancy, Menopause, Paediatric Care, Palliative Care, and Oncology Support. To enhance my practice, I hold a certification in Usui Reiki Level II and am a certified Access Bars Practitioner.

As a holistic therapy practitioner, I am dedicated to energy-based therapies and have a strong interest in the subtle ways the body responds to touch, energy, and intention. My practice is rooted in compassion, presence, and respect for each individual's unique journey. I recognise that life can sometimes be overwhelming—emotionally, mentally, or energetically. My approach is calm and supportive, creating a safe space for you to pause, reconnect with yourself, and gently release what no longer serves your well-being.

I am dedicated to supporting your wellness journey by providing supportive care that complements your lifestyle and, when appropriate, traditional healthcare. My role is not to diagnose or treat medical conditions, but rather to offer gentle, holistic support that promotes relaxation, balance, and self-care.

I believe that your well-being is a personal and continuous journey, and I am privileged for the opportunity to support you in prioritising your health and wellness.

As a fully insured, registered practitioner, I am a member of the Professional Reflexology Association (PR), Complementary Therapist Association (CThA), Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), Federal Holistic Therapists (FHT), UK Reiki Federation (UKRF) and Complementary Health Professionals (CHP).

The Benefits of Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the principal that specific points on the feet relate to the internal organs, glands and other structures of the body. By stimulating these specific points using massage and pressure techniques with the fingers and thumbs, can create changes in parts of the body to help restore imbalances in the body.

Duopody Reflexology

This is a contemporary and innovative approach to reflexology, utilising a method where both feet are treated concurrently and systematically. As reflexology is based on the concept that the feet correspond to the entire body, Duopody expands upon this principle by providing simultaneous treatment to both feet, offering a comprehensive approach to well-being.

What is Reiki

Reiki is a gentle complementary therapy that involves light touch or hands placed just above the body. It is intended to support relaxation and create a sense of calm.

These touch therapies promote relaxation, balance, and wellbeing. Combining Western methods with Eastern philosophy, they aim to bring harmony to your physical, emotional and spiritual self.

I offer Reiki and Reflexology treatments, designed to support stress reduction, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing. Each session is personalised to your individual needs creating space for calm, and balance, with a focus on comfort, safety, and relaxation.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, out of balance, or simply in need of time to pause and reset, Reiki and Reflexology can help encourage deep relaxation and restore a sense of harmony within the body and mind.

Frequently asked Questions

When scheduling a treatment with me, it is important to ask questions regarding any specific requirements or concerns to ensure a safe and satisfactory experience. Below are some questions you may wish to consider asking.

Is Reflexology suitable for me?

Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between. However, there may occasionally be times when it is not suitable to provide a treatment. Please get in touch so we can discuss your options. (Please note; Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice)

Will Reflexology help me?

Reflexology is a very individualised treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person, taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting your wellbeing. Some people find it works for them – some don’t. The best way to find out is to try it!

What to expect during my first treatment.

Your initial appointment will last approximately 75 minutes and will include a complimentary consultation. During this time, we will discuss your health history, diet, lifestyle, and obtain your consent for treatment. This information will be kept confidential. (see GDPR section: 'How I use your information'). Reflexology is a simple and comfortable therapy to receive. Depending on the specific type of reflexology, the only clothing you may need to remove are your socks and shoes to facilitate the treatment.

What approach do you take with your reflexology treatment?

Please inform me if you have a particular preference for the level of pressure, whether it should be applied more gently or more deeply.

What do I wear?

For Reflexology: Loose comfortable clothing, ideally trousers that reach up to your knees, in case I need to work the calves.

For Reiki and Access Bars: Please wear comfortable clothing, as you will remain fully clothed while lying or seated comfortably on the treatment couch during the session.

Duration of a session

An average appointment is around one hour.

How many sessions will I need?

You may see results after one or two sessions. For maximum benefit one session per week for 4 to 6 weeks is recommended. Once your treatment has ended we can discuss if you wish to attend more sessions.

What payments do you accept?

Tap to pay via Debit/Credit card, Bank transfer and cash.

What is your cancellation policy?

If a client cancels within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment or fails to attend, I reserve the right to charge the full cost of the treatment. Similarly, cancellations made with less than 48 hour's notice may be subject to a charge of 50% of the treatment fee.
